THE CURRENT TO CHARGED SPHERE, CYLINDER AND PLANE IMMERSED IN A WEAKLY IONIZED GAZ

The system of the bipolar ion environment and charged body (Sphere, Cylinder or Plane, hereafter -SCP) is considered. Ion diffusion is neglected and only drift in electric field has been taken into consideration. The expression for current has been analytically deduced for equal ion mobilities. Also the spatial distribution of ions and electric field has been obtained. It has been shown that the discharge current can be much smaller in comparison with classical Langevin value 4psq (for charged sphere).
